Remind You Of Anyone You Know?
Of course, this story should not surprise anyone who lives in Illinois and pays any attention to politics. Watching this whole thing and hearing some of the statements that this man allegedly was saying(is there a doubt?) reminded me of several people. I am sure we all know someone like this: self absorbed, cocky, arrogant, usually little in physical stature, legends in their own mind types that think they are all powerful and beyond the reach of the law. Well, this is an example of how every dog has their day. Again, remind you of anyone you know?Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich arrested on federal chargesGov. Rod Blagojevich …Read more […..]
Proper Use of Discretion?
Again, I say, Can you believe this??Trooper gives ticket to woman in laborBOSTON — All too often, the congested roads of Greater Boston conspire with the vagaries of childbirth to leave a mother-to-be in a car on the roadside at one of life’s most critical moments. A hard-bitten state trooper shows up and morphs into a highway midwife, clearing the newborn’s nose and mouth, cutting the cord, and sometimes even saving a life. This is not one of those stories. Jennifer Davis was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on Nov. 18, her contractions just 3 minutes apart. Her husband, John, was trying to appear calm for his wife’s …Read more […..]
Oh Nooooooo, Santa! More Parties! Choo Choo Train
When something goes wrong, even something very minor, Emma has recently been saying, “Ohhhh Nooooooo…..” It is funny how she says it. She says it in an exaggerated manner as if she is overly concerned–too funny! We went to 3 Christmas parties over the weekend, all on Saturday. The first party was a company family Christmas event that featured many attractions such as elves that painted faces and made cool candy cane balloons, crafts, karaoke, a train ride, and, of course, Santa Claus! Now, last year Emma was deathly afraid of Santa and cried when Melissa brought her by him. This year Emma had several things going for her. …Read more […..]
A "Merry Christmas"
Just had to add this clever take on “Twas a night Before Christmas” as the politically correctness has gotten way out of hand…*Twas the month before Christmas*When all through our land,*Not a Christian was praying*Nor taking a stand.*See the PC Police had taken away,*The reason for Christmas – no one could say.*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say* December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*CDs from Madonna, …Read more […..]
Know Anyone Like This?
They need it to win fights with bad guys, to look menacing on the streets or to get that extra edge on the SWAT team. To some police officers, the use of anabolic steroids is all about protecting themselves and the public. But top law enforcement brass around the country are learning that the implications of a police force on steroids are far more frightening, Phoenix police Cmdr. Kim Humphrey said.Humphrey talked about the trend yesterday (Tuesday, Nov. 11) at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in downtown San Diego. He said steroid abuse has seeped into police agencies nationwide, but few departments …Read more […..]
Teens protest Chicago PD getting rifles
Are you kidding me? Unreal!CHICAGO — Nearly 100 teens marched outside Chicago police headquarters Thursday night to protest the department’s plans to equip officers with semi-automatic rifles, saying the weapons could make the streets more dangerous. Carrying signs like “Stop the War on Youth,” teens said they didn’t trust police with the high-powered weapons and worried gangs would be encouraged to bolster their own arsenals.”The only people who need these guns are in Iraq,” said Arthur McGraw, 19, an organizer with the nonprofit Southwest Youth Collaborative, which organized the rally. “It’ll shoot through brick, car …Read more […..]
