Suspect dead, officer injured in police-involved shooting

January 11, 2010 (WLS) — An officer was hurt and a suspect was killed in a police-involved shooting in the western suburbs Monday night. It started as a police pursuit in the town of Franklin Park and that pursuit ended with the shooting on East Lake Street in Northlake. It is not clear what actually led to Franklin Park police opening fire. But the driver of the car was killed by police. One Franklin Park officer was shot in the hand. Chicago police may scrap entrance exam

This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. After personally witnessing the brainless dimwits in law enforcement–many in administrative/command roles, especially a certain Police Chief–that got hired with the testing, I can’t imagine the people who would be hired with no testing. Besides that, it is just inviting more corruption(than there already is) and favoritism in hiring(even with testing in place I have seen several people get hired because they were tight with the police chief, one in particular has the brains of an idiot.)
