Northlake PD
My Personal Recollections of Co-workers, Northlake is “Cleaned Up?”
I will be posting my recollections, memories, and stories of my former co-workers. I will be posting positive memories of people I worked with, was friends with and respected. I have heard that the Northlake Police chief may have been saying negative things about past officers and that he has “cleaned up” the department since he came in 1998. Well, I strongly believe that there were no “bad” officers that needed “cleaning up” in the way that it is inferred. It is true that a past Chief was in trouble with the Feds and that he was forced out and paid the price. However, I ask this….If the department was so “bad” then why …Read more […..]
Goofy Northlake Memos
I was cleaning our office drawer when I came across a goofy memo that police chief Dennis Koletsos had sent to some newer officers–each memo marked with dots placed in different places to, presumably, identify which officer had given us(union reps) copies. lol, unreal. You be the judge as to what the memo is all about…This guy is still police chief btw… There are 2 “anonyonous” letters that were also sent to my mother who lived in the city of Northlake at the time. This place amazes me how immature and idiotic things can be…. Memos can be seen better here: http://picasaweb.google.com/vivalafranz1/NewMemos#5499763187644755106 …Read more […..]
After 43 years, cop killer set to walk free
Outraged police and slain officers’ families fight parole decision Northlake Police Deputy Chief Norman Nissen, Jr. stands in front of the memorial to slain officers Anthony Perri and Det. Sgt. John Nagle. Nissen is coordinating efforts to prevent the parole of Henry Gargano who was convicted of killing the two Northlake police officers during a 1967 bank robbery. (Tribune photo by Chuck Berman / July 14, 2010) Northlake is my former employer and this is personal to me. This scumbag is even lucky he is alive! And, the bleeding hearts are about to let him go? Unreal!! When Robert Nagle learned …Read more […..]
The City of Northlake and Police Chief Koletsos Lose Lawsuit
It seems the(in my opinion) infamously arrogant and cocky Dennis Koletsos and his equally ignorant employer have lost a lawsuit. This was a long time coming and I am sure they are feeling very good now. LOL This guy has been, in my opinion, running rampant in the Northlake Police Department for years now. It was only a matter of time that something like this would happen. If he testified at trial I would have loved to have seen that! He gets flustered easily and turns red when he gets pressured.Quite comical. I wonder what the residents of Northlake think now that they will have to pay the burden of this lawsuit. …Read more […..]
Suspect dead, officer injured in police-involved shooting
January 11, 2010 (WLS) — An officer was hurt and a suspect was killed in a police-involved shooting in the western suburbs Monday night. It started as a police pursuit in the town of Franklin Park and that pursuit ended with the shooting on East Lake Street in Northlake. It is not clear what actually led to Franklin Park police opening fire. But the driver of the car was killed by police. One Franklin Park officer was shot in the hand. The state police are now investigating the shooting. http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=7213060
Chicago police may scrap entrance exam
This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. After personally witnessing the brainless dimwits in law enforcement–many in administrative/command roles, especially a certain Police Chief–that got hired with the testing, I can’t imagine the people who would be hired with no testing. Besides that, it is just inviting more corruption(than there already is) and favoritism in hiring(even with testing in place I have seen several people get hired because they were tight with the police chief, one in particular has the brains of an idiot.) The higher ups in the Chicago Police Department sound like the higher ups I worked for …Read more […..]
Did This Melrose Park Officer Show Proper Discretion?
Posted May 2009So, my wife received a ticket from the lone female officer on the Melrose Park Police Department. I am not just upset that she got the ticket….What really perturbed me was the manner and circumstances in which she got the ticket.Seems there is lots of “bad blood” between Northlake, my former employer, and the surrounding towns. It seems that Northlake Officer(s) have written tickets to relatives and even the officers of several towns. Among them are Melrose Park(hence the bad blood between the 2 towns?), Bellwood, and Chicago. Details are not being disclosed here but some people are really perturbed and it is …Read more […..]
