Article That Describes Actions of the Northlake Police Chief
This article is an awesome one that decribes how law enforcement management gets at Police Officers, most of whom are union members. From personal experience my opinion is that The City Of Northlake, Illinois’ Police Chief Dennis Koletsos uses this technique extensively. After never having any complaints against me in 10 years on the job it was funny how after becoming our Union President I was suddenly being suspended and investigated for “anonyomous” complaints, etc….. Those who have worked there know what I am talking about. Those except for the relatively few suck ups that would sell their soul if it meant getting …Read more […..]
Upcoming News Involving Northlake PD?
Seems a little birdie has informed that there is some news brewing involving Northlake PD. If true, it is significant and the opposite of a “feather” in the chief’s cap. ๐ More to come, hopefully…
Trooper Faulted for Ambulance Incident
What the heck is wrong with this guy? Sounds like a big ego got in the way of logical reasoning and behavior. Really sad example set by this guy.We have all seen them, the “Tough Guy” officers who feel that they own the streets, town, munipality, County and State that they work for.How people like this get hired is beyond me. In fact, some even become Chief–see Northlake and Chicago PDs.Link to the video is Here.OKLAHOMA CITY (June 16) — Bothered that an ambulance driver failed to yield to him as he raced to provide backup on a call รขโฌโ and angered further when he thought the driver flipped him an obscene gesture …Read more […..]
My Former Fellow Officer & Friend's Story
This is a friend of mines’ true story. It does not surprise me in the least as he also worked in Northlake which is located in Illinois–a very liberal state indeed. Anyway, this surprised me very much and I am wondering if it surprises anyone else? Whatever the case may be–I remember this guy saying this phrase often ;)– it is definitely something that all Police Officers can learn from. His blog site is: http://dukesblotter.blogspot.comA Lesson Learned – Learn From ItI am making this post not as a complaint but as a way for others to learn. This is a very important issue to everyone that wears a badge. As everyone pretty …Read more […..]
And The Survey Says……
In 2002, after much “complaining” about the extremely low morale of the Northlake Police Department and after hearing from the administration that it was only a “few veteran officers” that were starting trouble, we(the FOP Lodge #18) decided to have an employee survey taken. The survey was obtained from a major corporation and altered a bit to apply to a police agency. I highly recommend this survey to any police agency–if the administration will even consider doing a survey! We know how they try to keep negative morale under wraps… After the results were tabulated we set up a meeting with Chief Dennis Koletsos …Read more […..]
A True Lesson Learned During My Probation
This is about my first real lesson learned while I was on probation at Northlake Police Department. Rookies take heed…Now, when an officer passes FTO and is set on their own it is very exciting and “freeing.” You are free to pursue criminals and respond to calls in your own style. Even though you may be on your own, much still rides on the other officers you work as well as supervisors. When I was a rookie, my FTO and a couple other fine and trustworthy officers advised me to find an officer or two that I trusted and only confide in them matters that could jeopardize my job/career. I should not trust everyone–boy is this …Read more […..]
Teen dead following Northlake drive-by shooting
My good old hometown..Getting bad over there now! But, hey, Police Chief Dennis Koletsos still lives 42 miles away, after getting hired 10 years ago and stating that he would move to the area…A 17-year-old boy died Sunday morning, two days after being shot along with two others in a drive-by in west suburban Northlake. Three people were shot while standing outside a home near Roy and Victoria streets about 11:50 p.m. Friday, according to Northlake police.
