NEWS: Northlake sues insurance company after losing employment suit

More money for the City of Northlake to pay out regarding lawsuits against the Northlake Police Department and Police Chief Dennis Koletsos…… September 9, 2010 By MARK LAWTON mlawton@pioneerlocal.com In a kind of chain reaction, a lawsuit against the city of Northlake has led the city to file a lawsuit of its own. In January 2008, Daniel Rasic filed a lawsuit against the city of Northlake, Police Chief Dennis Koletsos and the Police and Fire Commission. Rasic was hired as a police officer by the city in 1999. He filed suit against the city in 2008, claiming the city had fired him for taking family …Read more […..]

My Personal Recollections of Co-workers, Northlake is “Cleaned Up?”

I will be posting my recollections, memories, and stories of my former co-workers. I will be posting positive memories of people I worked with, was friends with and respected. I have heard that the Northlake Police chief may have been saying negative things about past officers and that he has “cleaned up” the department since he came in 1998. Well, I strongly believe that there were no “bad” officers that needed “cleaning up” in the way that it is inferred. It is true that a past Chief was in trouble with the Feds and that he was forced out and paid the price. However, I ask this….If the department was so “bad” then why …Read more […..]

Goofy Northlake Memos

I was cleaning our office drawer when I came across a goofy memo that police chief Dennis Koletsos had sent to some newer officers–each memo marked with dots placed in different places to, presumably, identify which officer had given us(union reps) copies. lol, unreal. You be the judge as to what the memo is all about…This guy is still police chief btw… There are 2 “anonyonous” letters that were also sent to my mother who lived in the city of Northlake at the time. This place amazes me how immature and idiotic things can be…. Memos can be seen better here: http://picasaweb.google.com/vivalafranz1/NewMemos#5499763187644755106 …Read more […..]

The City of Northlake and Police Chief Koletsos Lose Lawsuit

It seems the(in my opinion) infamously arrogant and cocky Dennis Koletsos and his equally ignorant employer have lost a lawsuit. This was a long time coming and I am sure they are feeling very good now. LOL This guy has been, in my opinion, running rampant in the Northlake Police Department for years now. It was only a matter of time that something like this would happen. If he testified at trial I would have loved to have seen that! He gets flustered easily and turns red when he gets pressured.Quite comical. I wonder what the residents of Northlake think now that they will have to pay the burden of this lawsuit. …Read more […..]

Article That Describes Actions of the Northlake Police Chief

This article is an awesome one that decribes how law enforcement management gets at Police Officers, most of whom are union members. From personal experience my opinion is that The City Of Northlake, Illinois’ Police Chief Dennis Koletsos uses this technique extensively. After never having any complaints against me in 10 years on the job it was funny how after becoming our Union President I was suddenly being suspended and investigated for “anonyomous” complaints, etc….. Those who have worked there know what I am talking about. Those except for the relatively few suck ups that would sell their soul if it meant getting …Read more […..]

My Former Fellow Officer & Friend's Story

This is a friend of mines’ true story. It does not surprise me in the least as he also worked in Northlake which is located in Illinois–a very liberal state indeed. Anyway, this surprised me very much and I am wondering if it surprises anyone else? Whatever the case may be–I remember this guy saying this phrase often ;)– it is definitely something that all Police Officers can learn from. His blog site is: http://dukesblotter.blogspot.comA Lesson Learned – Learn From ItI am making this post not as a complaint but as a way for others to learn. This is a very important issue to everyone that wears a badge. As everyone pretty …Read more […..]

And The Survey Says……

In 2002, after much “complaining” about the extremely low morale of the Northlake Police Department and after hearing from the administration that it was only a “few veteran officers” that were starting trouble, we(the FOP Lodge #18) decided to have an employee survey taken. The survey was obtained from a major corporation and altered a bit to apply to a police agency. I highly recommend this survey to any police agency–if the administration will even consider doing a survey! We know how they try to keep negative morale under wraps… After the results were tabulated we set up a meeting with Chief Dennis Koletsos …Read more […..]
