A True Lesson Learned During My Probation
This is about my first real lesson learned while I was on probation at Northlake Police Department. Rookies take heed…Now, when an officer passes FTO and is set on their own it is very exciting and “freeing.” You are free to pursue criminals and respond to calls in your own style. Even though you may be on your own, much still rides on the other officers you work as well as supervisors. When I was a rookie, my FTO and a couple other fine and trustworthy officers advised me to find an officer or two that I trusted and only confide in them matters that could jeopardize my job/career. I should not trust everyone–boy is this …Read more […..]
Sound Familiar?
The Department spokeswoman obviously is trying to put a spin on things. A friend of mine who is a copper at Chicago PD has cnfirmed that morale is extremely low and they are not going to go out of their way to make arrests for fear that they will be overly scrutinized and eventually punished. Seems certain chiefs like to make a reputation for themselves. This happens everyday and I am sure some people actually buy into department brass’ excuses. As many officers used to state at Northlake PD, it is all “smoke and mirrors.” CHICAGO — Serious crime is up but arrests are down in Chicago, and some police officers say they …Read more […..]
True FTO Story
An FTO story…When you are an FTO you come across some real characters when training rookie police officers. Many times you may find yourself asking, “How did this person get hired?” Whether it is because the person is a friend of a politician or is a suck up to the police chief it is a sad state of affairs when someone who clearly should be in another line of work gets hired as a police officer. With that in mind, I am reminded of someone who rode along with me. This guy, lets call him Wilbur to conceal his identity, thought that he was the sh*t. I mean he thought that all the ladies (and guys) loved him and that rules didn’t …Read more […..]

Another Slick Willie?
As we all know, arrestees that we know for certain are guilty get off or are found not guilty for whatever reason(s). That being said, it appears that Northlake Police’s version of Slick Willie, Dennis Koletsos, has been exonerated from a lawsuit once again. Without knowing all the facts, only he and Coary know all the exact facts, I can’t give an exact and appropriate opinion on the matter. I will say however, that many people, including myself, have witnessed this administration in action. We all are aware of how they genuinely have the utmost in integrity, morals and high ethics. We know that the maestro himself does not …Read more […..]

Another Koletsos on Board?
The following was taken from the City of Northlake Website, Council minutes: Alderman Patti made a motion to approve an internship with the Police Department to Megan Koletsos; seconded by Alderman Delgado. Alderman Straube called for the roll. Now, I have never met this woman and I have nothing against her. I am assuming this is the daughter of the great and honorable Chief Dennis Koletsos. Lets hope that the apple fell far, far from the tree! Hmmm, better keep a certain Sgt. away from her!!
